I See An America - Volume 1 Issue 43 - The Great Depression and Our Depression

What happened to the American work ethic? Listening to ESPN radio while at work, is not working. If you were my employee, you'd be fired on the spot. There's far too much political correctness and far too little common sense. more »

It is more and more apparent that the banks are not content to rest on their laurels of having put us in this economic recession, they aim to keep us there. more »

I See An America - Volume 1 Issue 33 - Common Sense and ATM Fees

05/11/09 | by admin [mail] | Categories: Financial, Spiritual
Let me get this straight. The new ATM machines are really cool. You dump in a stack of up to 30 checks and the machine scans the checks, confirms the amounts, and post the transactions in your account. In other words, you've eliminated the vast majority of labor involved in the transaction. (The labor was always negligible when you withdrew cash--whatever was required to fill up the machine with cash.) So what's up with the ATM fees? Why do I have to pay up to $3.00 to use an ATM to withdraw my money from my account. (On a $20 withdrawal, that's a 15% charge to withdraw your money.) Come on man, I can get cash back with my purchase at the grocery store for free!! Common sense says we're getting ripped off. more »

I See An America - Volume 1 Issue 32 - The Last Credit Card

I've always thought that America should offer its citizens free medicine, free education, free burial. If you worked a full time job you could afford a place to live, food to eat and a means of transportation. In other words, if you worked at McDonald's full time you should be able to afford a studio apartment, have money for groceries and a used car with necessary insurance. more »

By the way, what's the deal with ATM transaction charges? You do the bank a favor by not using any employee time and the bank charges you extra? Seems to me the Bank should be paying us for using the ATM. more »

I See An America - Volume 1 Issue 30 - Obama Gets In On

03/01/09 | by admin [mail] | Categories: Political, Financial
To me, the two biggest developments concern Obama putting the special interest groups on notice that he's been hired by the people of America, not the lobbyists and that he has seemingly mastered the conciliatory approach merged seamlessly with the big stick. more »

Back in the mid 70's interest rates were sky high (prime hitting 15% at one point) and the cost of living was cheap (at the most, 20% of today's cost of living.) So let's see the impact of all this on someone who's been planning for retirement...what should they be doing? more »

At least, GW Bush has slunk out of town. My guess he's partying hard with all the cocaine and marijuana dealers he pardoned in his last days of office. But I digress. more »

I See An America - Volume 1 Issue 23 - Time To Revisit Drug DeCriminalization

There are two reasons people use drugs: they are bored, or their life sucks and they're trying to get fucked up enough to escape it. There is only one reason people deal drugs: to make money. more »
