I See An America - Volume 1 Issue 38 - Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy theorists must be having a field day. To believe them, man has never walked on the moon, Obama is not a US citizen, and Lee Harvey Oswald didn't shoot JFK. Oh wait a minute, one of these is true!

It amazes me how we, the people of the United States of America can be so similar in so many ways with our neighbors and yet so diametrically opposed in our religious and political and conspiracy views.

All products of the Republican party "politics of fear" kool aid. The blatant racism that is still central to the GOP was never more evident than throughout the Sotomayor confirmation hearings and the C Street Family inspired comment, made on the floor of the US Senate, to the effect that neither Obama nor Thurgood Marshall would be here if abortion was easier.

How sad, in this day and age, that a political party believes this kind of message, the message of racism, of fear, of hate, the message of faith not fact, can be tolerated, much less justified.

How much sadder that much of the country seems to lap it up.

I see an America that is at a crucial junction in its future. The choices and actions we make today will have long lasting impact on our country's future.
